Yellowstone
Hospitality Industry

Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Yellowstone area.

Mostly in northwest Wyoming, the Yellowstone National Park is the first area identified for preservation by the U.S. Congress in the mid 1800s, comprising over two million acres, more area than is occupied by Delaware and Rhode Island combined, and having over 300 miles of paved roads serving five separate entrances, with small portions of the park crossing over the state lines into Montana and Idaho. The park is actually a volcanic basin through which about 250 active geysers, including "Old Faithful," spout their steam, giving Yellowstone the densest concentration of active geysers on the planet, and over 2,000 minor earthquakes per year. In addition, the park is partially covered by water, featuring almost 300 waterfalls each with a height of at least 15 feet, supports 8 different varieties of pine tree, and has one of the largest petrified forests in the world. Wild bison, moose, grizzly bear, elk, whooping crane, bald eagle, lynx and the grey wolf are all protected and live in the park. In the winter, you can enjoy skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. In the summer, horseback riding, backpacking, camping and fishing are all popular. There is so much to see of the American wilderness here, and it is preserved in its raw state, just as it was discovered, for everyone to enjoy.
